NORTHEAST STUDIOBook the SPEAK MPLS Northeast studio and edit lab on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays! This dream space is equipped with three 4K JVC video cameras and room for various configurations. We’re open on Tuesdays from 12 to 5 pm and Thursdays from 12 to 8 pm.

We’re open on Wednesdays from 12 pm to 5 pm, Fridays from 12 pm to 8 pm, and Saturdays from 12 pm to 4 pm.

Script Your Story: Intro to Screenwriting

Do you have ideas bubbling for a short film? Have you dreamed of writing a movie? Learn what it takes to write a screenplay! Our focus is to learn the craft of narrative screenwriting, developing main character energy, screenplay formatting to set the tone, build the world, introduce the characters and write great action and dialogue. Class will include lecture and scene writing exercises. Bring your ideas, inspiration and main character energy to learn the art and craft of writing for narrative film and television. This class is designed for both first-time and new writers but is open to all levels of creatives.

Join us for an in-person orientation at one of the SPEAK MPLS studios to jump-start your media journey! Learn about membership benefits, how to submit content to air on TV, and ways to access the tools to fully engage and thrive in the SPEAK MPLS creative community. You’ll tour the studio and see equipment available to members, so pick the location nearest you! Orientation is required for all members. If additional times or virtual options are needed, please reach out and we can accommodate you.

Get hands-on studio experience with a creative cohort. In this 2.5 hour class, you’ll learn 4K video camera settings, how to set up lighting and audio and go LIVE from the SPEAK MPLS Northeast studio!

LIVE from Twin Cities Pride 2023 | AMPLIFY MPLS

The 51st annual Twin Cities Pride Festival was held at Loring Park and Parade Park in Minneapolis June 23 – 25, 2023 and featured local BIPOC and LGBTQ+ vendors, food courts, a beer garden, and music stages. At the SPEAK MPLS booth, we asked the question, "What does Pride mean to you?" Hear what our community had to say!

Elevate Pride Stories | AMPLIFY MPLS

In June 2023, we opened our studio doors to celebrate and honor the people, places, actions and voices that have shaped the community through a new storytelling campaign Elevate Pride Stories as part of our AMPLIFY MPLS original series that premiered on SPEAK MPLS TV and at this year’s Twin Cities Pride festival. We hope that capturing the stories and history across generations of Pride gatherings will inspire others to share their stories, because it is critical that LGBTQ+ stories are elevated, for all to celebrate.
